1819/CID Student Engagement Assessment

The 1819/CID Student Engagement project aimed to collect and analyze data from UC students about the 1819 Innovation Hub and the Cincinnati Innovation District. Each team member conducted 5 student interviews with students that they did not know personally. Interview topics included the definition of innovation, innovation at UC, and how familiar they were with UC's innovation initiatives.

The data points that we gathered from student interviews were consolidated and analyzed over several rounds of review. We then created categories of data points that helped us locate student pain points. Using this data, we came up with recommendations for the executive team at 1819 that could increase student engagement with the building. The team had a very enthusiastic response and several of our recommendations have already been implemented, including a new welcome desk inside the main entrance, and increased seating on the ground floor.
